Once upon a time I started to think how helpful it would be for me to write down all the solutions to problems I’ve found in the IT world so I could go back and reference them when they come up again. Or maybe post them somewhere that others could access. Sometimes its a issue I’m the only one that will ever face (doubtful) or sometimes its something happening to lots of people but I figured it out. That was more years ago then I can remember and since then I have forgotten most of what I’ve done. However with computers and software getting more complicated year after year I’ve decided its time to start logging some of this information even if it’s for my own benefit.
Little bit about me. My name is Allan and I’ve been in the IT field for almost 20 years now. I started out as a lowly assistant LAN administrator and I’m currently the systems administrator for a midsize business in Ohio. I take care of our servers, network infrastructure, tech support, basically all the technology stuff. Even though it can be frustrating at times I do like what I do and can’t imagine doing anything else. Except working at Home Depot when I “retire”. I love that place.
